Penile warts, Venereal warts or Genital Warts is a STD caused by the Human papilloma virus (HPV). The penis, vulva, urethra, vagina, cervix, and area around the anus are the usual regions where these Genital Warts appear. The Human papilloma virus (HPV) infection can be symptomless in some people. But treatment must be continued even in the absence of symptoms to prevent the complications of Human papilloma virus (HPV) infections. There are many strains of the HPV. Most of the strains are associated with Penile warts, Venereal warts or Genital Warts. The HPV grows well in the moist conditions in the genitals. The warts are clusters of flesh colored, eruptions. If not treated the warts can spread to the vagina and the cervix causing cancerous and pre-cancerous changes in the cervix. HPV has been indicted as the causative agent of cervical cancer.
