Name: Abiu

Other Names: Pouteria caimito, abio

Description: Abiu is originally from the amazon region, but now it is cultivated in almost the whole country of Brazil. Sometimes it can be found as part of the trees of urban regions.

Abiu has a yellow/orange smooth skin, and the middle of the fruit has the consistency of a jelly, white or yellow, that can be very sweet or without any taste.

Medically it has many proprietis, like adstringent, antianemic,, antiinflammatory, stops the fever, stops diarrhea, stops cough and has many nutrients.
