Description: Depression in adolescents is in many ways quite similar to that of adults. Younger teenagers may not be able to express their feelings as the older ones and hence the symptoms of depression may be expressed as phobias, bodily complaints, behavior problems, or as separation anxieties. Teens suffering from psychotic depressions may report hallucinations. Depression is the most common symptom of a folic acid deficiency. Folic Acid is found to possess anti-depressant properties. It is used to treat a variety of mental disorders including adolescence depression. It is a natural alternative for allopathic drugs used for alleviating depression like- Sertraline, Lorazepam (also known by its brand name Ativan or Temesta), Alprazolam (also known under the trade names Xanax and Niravam).
