Description: Agas-moro belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is a flowering shrub. They are known for having intense purple flowers. Agas-moro is also known for its value as an herbal medicine. Agas-moro seeds yield a fatty oil and are used as an anthelmintic and alexipharmic; they are said to be quite effective against roundworms and threadworms. They are also given for coughs, flatulence, intestinal colic and dysuria and for leucoderma, psoriasis and other chronic skin-diseases. The seeds of are made into a paste with lime juice and used for destroying pediculi. Agas-moro is also known for its proven antimicrobial activity and is used for gingivitis and toothache.

Agas-moro is also known as Vernonia cinerea, Bulabod, Kolong-kugon, Magmansi and Sahadevi.
