What is Anal Cancer?

Anal cancer once a rare type of cancer is increasing in modern times. The anus is the outer most opening of the body through which the waste materials are expelled by the process of defecation. The anus is guarded by the anal sphincter. Anal cancer occurs when the cancerous cells invade the anal tissues. Lack of fiber in the diet, faulty toilet habits and irregular toilet habits may contribute the incidence of anal cancer.

Symptoms:

The symptoms include "bleeding from the anal opening and itching or formation of tumors". There could be a change in toilet habits. Treatments of anal cancer depends upon the extent of the malignancy and the spread of the disease in the anal region. Treatments include "radiation, chemotherapy and surgery".
