Description: Myrrh contains tannins, which have an astringent, drawing effect on the tissues. Chinese research has identified other substances in the herb that fight bacteria and Indian scientists have discovered that the herb has an anti inflammatory action. All of these factors make myrrh an effective mouthwash. Myrrh tastes bitter but refreshing. It may help relieve the inflammation and destroy the bacteria involved in gingivitis which is a major contributor to bad breath.
Directions For Use: To prepare a mouthwash, steep 1 teaspoon of the powdered herb and 1 teaspoon of powdered boric acid in 1 pint of boiling water. Let stand for 30 minutes, then strain if you wish. Be sure the rinse is cool before using it. Do not swallow it.
Not To Use With: Myrrh has been shown to stimulate uterine contractions and should not be used by pregnant women.
Side Effects: Large doses of the herb may produce a violent laxative action. Other symptoms may include sweating, nausea, vomiting and rapid heartbeat
Expected Results: Bad breath, unless related to a medical condition should be relieved when using a myrrh mouthwash on a daily basis
Expected Results Within: Immediately
