Pain and Cancer are synonymous with one another. The severity of Cancer Pain increases until it becomes unbearable in the terminal stages of the disease. The excruciating cancer pain is caused by the cancer which is spreading into new areas. Primary cancer Pain could be caused by the cancer or the pain could be due to the destruction of the cells and tissues by the cancer. The growing cancer can intrude and press the nerves, tissues, and bones to cause cancer pain. The pain could also be caused by the chemicals released by the cancer cells. The various cancer treatments like chemotherapy, surgery or radiation can also cause cancer pain. Surgery can be very painful and could take a long time to heal. The ideal way is to remove the source of the pain, for example, through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation or some other form of treatment. If that cannot be done, pain medications can usually control the pain.
