Other Names: gleditsia fruit, sokaku, chogak, cho kap, Zao Jia, Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus

Description: Gleditsia or zao jia or Chinese Honeylocust fruit, also known as sokaku in Japan, chogak in Korea, cho kap in Cantonese is exclusively used in Chinese herbal medicines. Chinese Honeylocust fruit can be used in many aspects like cosmetic and health.. The Properties or characteristics of Chinese Honey locust fruit are acrid, warm and slightly toxic. It is presently used for constipation or mild intestine obstruction, it was earlier used for early stages of boils, difficulty in discharging of pus, eczema, and leprosy. Do not overdose. Large amount can induce vomiting and diarrhea. Do not to use during pregnancy or in cases of qixu (qi deficiency) or yinxu (yin deficiency), or hemoptysis.
