What is Conjunctivitis?

Also called: Red Eye, Pinkeye, Madras Eye

Among all the sense organs the eye is the most sensitive and complex organ. The human eye is much akin to the photographic camera with provisions for regulating the intensity, and amount of light. The frontal portion of the eye is covered with a film like structure known as the conjunctiva. When the conjunctiva is infected by a bacteria or fungi it becomes inflamed. This condition is known as Conjunctivitis or Pinkeye. The infection could be limited to the conjunctiva or it could spread to other structures in the eye. It can affect one or both the eyes. Children are the most affected. Symptoms of Conjunctivitis may include redness, itching, swelling, discharge, pain, or problems with vision. Treatment depends on the cause of the infection and may include compresses, eye drops, creams or antibiotics.

She passed through chemotherapy with ease. But was it the Wheatgrass? And if it was, how come it was so hard to find out about it?"
