Conditions Treated: Infectious Diseases

Specific Conditions Treated: Conjunctivitis

Ingredients Used: Acer truncatum

Description: Among all the sense organs the eye is the most sensitive and complex organ. The human eye is much akin to the photographic camera with provisions for regulating the intensity, and amount of light. The frontal portion of the eye is covered with a film like structure known as the conjunctiva. When the conjunctiva is infected by a bacteria or fungi it becomes inflamed. This condition is known as Conjunctivitis or Pinkeye. The infection could be limited to the conjunctiva or it could spread to other structures in the eye. It can affect one or both the eyes. Children are the most affected. Symptoms of Conjunctivitis may include redness, itching, swelling, discharge, pain, or problems with vision. Treatment depends on the cause of the infection and may include compresses, eye drops, creams or antibiotics. Acer truncatum leaves extracts are a natural alternative for commonly used anti-biotics like Ciprofloxacin, Norfloxacin, Roxithromycin and Penicillin derivatives. Acer truncatum leaves extracts are devoid of the usual side effects associated with conventional anti-biotics like gastric irritation and resistance. Acer truncatum leaves extract can be used with confidence to treat Conjunctivitis.

Directions For Use: Boil 5 to 8 Acer truncatum leaves in 250 ml of water. Strain and drink 15 ml of this filtrate thrice daily for a week. The symptoms of Conjunctivitis are resolved in a week of treatment with Acer truncatum leaves extracts.

Not To Use With:
No specific precaution needs to be followed while using this treatment. Acer truncatum leaves extract is perfectly safe and is devoid of the usual adverse reactions seen with other antibiotics in the treatment of Conjunctivitis.

Side Effects: None are seen. Acer truncatum leaves extract can be used with confidence in the treatment of Conjunctivitis.

Expected Results: The Conjunctivitis is resolved in a week of treatment with Acer truncatum leaves extracts.

Expected Results Within: 1 week
