Ingredients Used: Alchornea cordifolia

Description: Among all the sense organs the eye is the most sensitive and complex organ. The human eye is much akin to the photographic camera with provisions for regulating the intensity, and amount of light. The frontal portion of the eye is covered with a film like structure known as the conjunctiva. When the conjunctiva is infected by a bacteria or fungi it becomes inflamed. This condition is known as Conjunctivitis or Pinkeye. The infection could be limited to the conjunctiva or it could spread to other structures in the eye. It can affect one or both the eyes. Children are the most affected. Symptoms of Conjunctivitis may include redness, itching, swelling, discharge, pain, or problems with vision. Treatment depends on the cause of the infection and may include compresses, eye drops, creams or antibiotics. Alchornea cordifolia leaves extract is an Herbal alternative of Penicillin, Amoxicillin, Roxythromycin or Fluoroquinolones, Gentamycin and other antibiotic drugs used for treating Conjunctivitis. In fact Alchornea cordifolia leaves extract are devoid of side effects like impaired taste seen in commonly used antibiotics.

Directions For Use: Boil 5-6 leaves of Alchornea cordifolia in a cup of water for 10 minutes. Allow it to steep, then strain and drink 15 ml of this extract, thrice daily for a week. The symptoms associated with Conjunctivitis are controlled in a few hours and complete cure is effected in a week of treatment with Alchornea cordifolia leaves extract.

Not To Use With: No specific precaution needs to be followed while using this treatment. Alchornea cordifolia leaves extract are as effective as other antibiotics used in incidences of Conjunctivitis.

Side Effects: None are seen. Alchornea cordifolia leaves extract can be used with confidence in the treatment of Conjunctivitis.
