I have used a topical gel that contains tea tree oil. All it has done is piss the cyst off. It itches, is red. It has become softer. I finally got pure tea tree oil this morning. This makes it burn, itch and well my cyst is still really mad. What should I look for as to this treatment is working?

Hi Trisha,

Sorry to hear about your predicament. Could you please specify in which area of the body you have a cyst. Since Tea tree oil is not recommended on sensitive skin like the thighs or on the torso. It is also not recommended on supperative cysts. You can also dilute the Tea tree oil by mixing it with a little petroleum jelly and then apply it on the cysts. See if it works and get back to me. Hope I'll be able to assist further.

It is on by bra line under my arm. it has shrunk over the last 2 weeks but is still there. I want it to go away. I have a bee's wax cream that has tea tree oil in it as well and us that too. I love my melaleuc products.

Hi Trisha,

Glad to hear that the cyst is shrinking. Yes you can use Bee Wax with the Tea Tree oil. As for the time it will take ,it depends upon the size of the cyst and how old it is.But most cysts are cleared in a fortnight and the stubborn ones in a month or so.
