During the course of time increased glucose levels in the blood caused by Diabetes can have serious repercussions on the working of many vital organs like the heart, kidneys, liver, nerves and the eyes. Diabetic Retinopathy is the name given to the damage which occurs to the retina due to increased glucose levels in the blood.
Diabetic Retinopathy is caused by the damage to the blood vessels of the retina, which is the light sensitive layer in the eye. Diabetic Retinopathy is of two types:
Non-proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy which is the initial stage of the disease where the blood vessels have just started to leak fluid into the retina leading to blurred vision.
Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy which is the more advanced form of the disease where new blood vessels start to grow. These blood vessels are very fragile and can bleed continuously leading to scarring of the retina.
Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the leading cause of blindness in middle aged men. Both Type 1 and type 2 diabetics are at risk. Diabetic Retinopathy is more severe in poorly controlled diabetics. Patients who have Diabetes for more than 30 years are almost sure to show signs of Diabetic Retinopathy.
Symptoms of Diabetic Retinopathy include "Blindness, blurred vision, floaters, and shadows or missing areas of vision". Many people with early diabetic retinopathy have no symptoms before major bleeding occurs in the eye. This is why everyone with diabetes should have regular eye exams.

After an excessive
research I learned about Wheatgrass. And it seemed to work!
She passed through chemotherapy with ease. But was it the Wheatgrass?
And if it was, how come it was so hard to find out about it?"
