Description: Eye Stye/ Hordeolum is a bacteria-infected localized inflammation of the upper or lower eyelid which have Zeis glands that produce a secretion to keep the area moist and soft. Staphylococcus bacteria is usually the bacteria which causes this infection. The eyelid may become swollen and sore. The characterized symptoms of the Eye Stye are- pain in the eye or eyelid, especially when blinking or to the touch, redness of the eyelid and swelling of the eyelid. The antibacterial action of eyebright makes it an efficient herb in treating Eye stye. Eyebright is also known as Euphrasia, Euphrasia officinali and Euphrasy herb.

Directions For Use: Soak 4gm of dried Eyebright herb in a a cup of water for 10 minutes. Boil it. Strain and cool. Apply this solution to the Eye Stye 4 times daily for 3 days.

Not To Use With: As such no specific precaution needs to be followed while using Eyebright in the treatment of Eye Stye.

Side Effects: No side effects are seen. As Eyebright is safe and well tolerated in the treatment of Eye Stye.

Expected Results: The symptoms of Eye Stye are reduced in 3 days of the treatment with Eyebright.
