What is Fever?

Also called: Common Fever, Pyrexia

Most mammals are warm blooded creatures. The body temperature is maintained at 98.6 F. In the incidence of Fever the body temperature rises above 98.6 F. Fever/ Common Fever/ Pyrexia is a natural defense mechanism by the body to make the surroundings unsuitable for the survival of pathogens who best thrive at normal body temperature. Fever also activates your body's immune system. Infections cause most fevers. There can be many other causes including "Medicines, heat, exhaustion, cancers, autoimmune diseases, etc". Anti pyretic drugs are given to reduce body temperatures during fever.
