Also called: Bible Bump, Ganglion Wrist
Ganglion cysts or Ganglion wrist or Bible Bump are fluid-filled cysts that most usually develop along joints or the tendons of the wrists or hands. They can appear on the feet also. A ganglion cyst may develop gradually over a period of time. The exact cause of Ganglion cysts or Bible Bump is unknown. Ganglion cysts or Ganglion wrist does not cause any pain and will subside after some time. Ganglion Cysts or Bible Bump becomes a problem if it interferes in the free movement of the joints or looks cosmetically ugly.
Ganglion cysts are- raised, round, firm and smooth lumps near your wrist or finger joints, a little more than an inch (3 centimeters) in diameter. They are variable in size and painless, although in some cases the cysts may put pressure on the nerves near the joint, which can cause pain, weakness or numbness in your hand.
