Name: Golden Root

Other Names: Rhodiola rosea, Roseroot

Description: Rhodiola rosea also known as Golden Root, Roseroot, Aaron's Rod is a plant in the Crassulaceae family comes from Arctic regions and has been shown to increase energy, physical endurance and well-being is an adaptogen means an agent that allows an organism to counteract adverse physical, chemical, or biological stressors by generating non-specific resistance. Golden Root is a popular plant in traditional medical systems in Eastern Europe and Asia with a reputation for stimulating the nervous system, decreasing depression, enhancing work performance, eliminating fatigue, and preventing high altitude sickness. A range of antioxidant compounds have been identified in Golden Root. Twenty-eight compounds have been isolated from the roots and above-ground parts of Golden Root, including 12 novel compounds. The roots contain a range of biologically active substances including organic acids, flavonoids, tannins, and phenolic glycosides.
