Kefir is a fermented drink made of milk mixed with kefir grains. It can be prepared using cow, goat or sheep milk. It has sour taste and a consistency similar to thin yogurt. While in many countries you can buy kefir in the nearest store, it is believed that homemade kefir has better properties.
To prepare kefir at home, simmer 1 l of milk for ½ hour. Pour milk into container and leave till it will be cold. Then pour into it 1 glass of bought kefir and leave under cover for next 24 hours. Next time pour into milk 1 glass of kefir made by yourself.
