Any unwanted growth of a tissue is known as cancer. Leukemia can be defined as a group of bone marrow diseases in which there is an uncontrolled increase in leukocytes or white blood cells.
Different Types of Leukemia:
Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is a rapidly growing cancer in which the bone marrow produces a large number of immature lymphocytes or white blood cells. These cells can be seen in the bone marrow, blood, spleen, lymph nodes, and other organs. Cancer of the bone marrow is known as chronic myelogenous leukemia. Hairy cell leukemia (HCL) affects B cells, a type of white blood cell or lymphocyte. It is a rare cancer of the blood. Cancer of the white blood cells or lymphocytes is known as chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
