Create a new Treatment using this IngredientDescription: The genus Lippia belongs to the family Verbenaceae and consists of approximately 200 species of herbs, shrubs and small trees. Lippia adoensis is endemic to the afromontane region of Ethiopia. Wild Lippia species have lemon-like odour, which can be used to differentiate it from the cultivated speicies which have rather sweet fragrance. In Ethiopia, the cultivated L. adoensis known as 'Kosseret' is traditionally used to flavour butter for a special dish known as 'Kitfo'. Most of them are traditionally utilized as remedies for gastrointestinal and respiratory problems. Some species have shown antimalarial, antiviral and cytostatic properties. It is believed that their essential oils and phenolic compounds are responsible for these properties
