Name: Mustard Oil

Description: Mustard Oil is versatile oil that can be used for both therapeutic uses and culinary applications. The term Mustard Oil is used for two different oils that are extracted from mustard seeds: a fatty vegetable oil resulting from pressing the seeds and an essential oil resulting from grinding the seeds, mixing them with water, and extracting the resulting volatile oil by distillation. The seeds can come from three different plants: black mustard, brown Indian mustard, and white or yellow mustard. When it comes to the use of oils as a soothing topical agent, Mustard Oil is considered to be helpful with the pain and discomfort associated with arthritis. Mustard Oil contains alkaloids and Riccin which is useful in dissolving ear wax and also an antiseptic. Mustard Oil gives relief from pain associated with ear infections. Mustard has been used as a medicine for ottitis since time immemorial.
