Ingredients Used: Coccinia

Description: Myringitis or Bullous myringitis is an infectious disease of the ear. Mycoplasma is the causative agent. The ear drum becomes inflamed due to the bacterial infection. Fluid filled vesicles are formed on the ear drum. Pain can start immediately and last up to one to two days. An otoscopy is done to confirm Myringitis. The vesicles are incised to relieve pain. Myringitis is always associated with otitis media.Infectious myringitis is usually treated with antibiotics. If the pain is severe, the blisters may be lanced and pain-killing drugs may be prescribed. Coccinia leaves extracts have been used in traditional African herbal treatments, especially for infective states given its strong Anti-fungal and anti-bacterial activity. Coccinia leaves extracts are a natural substitute for anti-biotics like Ciprofloxacin, Roxithromycin or Azithromycin. Coccinia leaves extracts are also effective in treating fungal infections especially topical fungal infections and can be safely used in place of commonly used topical anti-fungals like Cannestan or Nizoral. Hence Coccinia leaves extracts is potent and effective as well as safe option for treating Myringitis. Coccinia is also known as Scarlet gourds.

Directions For Use: Take 15-20 fresh Coccinia leaves and make a fine paste out of it. Now take this paste and boil it in half glass of water for 5 minutes. Now drink this Coccinia leaves extracts tea twice daily for a week for the treatment of Myringitis.

Not To Use With: As such no interactions are seen with Coccinia leaves extracts; therefore no specific precaution needs to be followed while using this treatment for Myringitis with Coccinia leaves extracts.

Side Effects: No side effects are seen with Coccinia leaves extracts. Coccinia leaves extracts can be used with confidence for treating Myringitis

Expected Results: A significant improvement in the prognosis of Myringitis was seen in a week of treatment with Coccinia leaves extracts.
