Orchitis or Orchiditis is an often very painful condition of the testicles involving inflammation, swelling and frequently infection. Symptoms of Orchitis include "Ejaculation of blood, Hematuria, severe pain and visible swelling of a testicle or testicles and often the inguinal lymph nodes on the affected side". Causes of Orchitis include "Orchitis could be a complication of Epididymitis infection when the infection spreads to the testicles". Orchitis is less common as Epididymitis but it should not be ignored as it can lead to sterility. Mumps can also cause Orchitis. Treatment options include antibiotics in case the infection is bacterial in origin. Antibiotics are not recommended if the infection is viral in origin. NSAID's are used to resolve pain.
