What is Skin Cancer?

Also called: Melanoma, Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the skin

Skin cancer is a malignant growth on the skin which can have many causes. Skin cancer generally develops in the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin), so a tumor is usually clearly visible. This makes most skin cancers detectable in the early stages. Left untreated, skin cancers can be very dangerous, but with early detection and intervention most are curable. Skin cancer that forms in melanocytes (skin cells that make pigment) is called melanoma. Skin cancer that forms in basal cells (small, round cells in the base of the outer layer of skin) is called basal cell carcinoma. Skin cancer that forms in squamous cells (flat cells that form the surface of the skin) is called squamous cell carcinoma. Skin cancer that forms in neuroendocrine cells (cells that release hormones in response to signals from the nervous system) is called neuroendocrine carcinoma of the skin. Most skin cancers form in older people on parts of the body exposed to the sun or in people who have weakened immune systems.

Tamir Goren "When my mother fell ill with cancer I wanted to find a natural solution to help with her suffering. After an excessive research I learned about Wheatgrass. And it seemed to work! She passed through chemotherapy with ease. But was it the Wheatgrass? And if it was, how come it was so hard to find out about it?"
