What is Sudeck's Atrophy?

Also called: Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, RSDS, CRPS, Complex regional pain syndrome

Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome also called as RSDS or Sudeck's Atrophy or Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a condition characterized by pain and reduced range of motion in the shoulder and hand of the affected arm, but may affect virtually any part of the body. Typical features include "dramatic changes in the color and temperature of the skin over the affected limb or body part, accompanied by intense burning pain, skin sensitivity, sweating, and swelling". Doctors aren’t sure what causes Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome. Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome generally follows a trauma or a surgery.
